Piñata produced this matte painting for Shilo New York studios to be used in Comcast Xfinity commercial. The whole painting was something of a two-day-crunch from sketches to final, but in the end it turned out very nicely! Piñata 3d artist Timo was busy modeling and creating a lighting setup for the scene while Tuomas did some textures and painted and retouched the elements together.

Piñata drew this storyboard for Swedish Armed Forces and Foreign Service recruiting campaign films, produced by It’s Showtime and directed by Rane Tiukkanen. Cinematic angles, dynamic poses and “the best of the worst” action movie clichés were required to meet just the right mood for the films.

Yesterday in Voitto gala we had the honor to be awarded for the graphical execution in Seppälä films. Thanks go to all people involved, especially to all who also had the trust to gave us exceptional freedom with the style and visuals.

Last week I did some painting on my freetime. -Tuomas
Thanks to our friends and partners at Anima Boutique for a tasty christmas greeting! We heard a rumour that one of the gingerbread guys is loosely based on a certain animator at Piñata. Go figure.
Piñata was contacted a while ago by Praveen Joseph of Silver Spring, Maryland for a permission to use the David and Goliath picture for Veikkaus as a part of a bible quiz at their church. Mr Joseph had been searching the web for pictures of the event and found our painting on Google Images. We contacted TBWA\PHS and Veikkaus about the idea and they too were more than happy to help our newfound friends in the United States.
We don’t have exact information about the questions asked about the painting. We’re pretty sure that it wasn’t “Which football team’s shirts were David and Goliath wearing?”, though.
First of all we would like to thank our friends at Sherpa for the invitation to the game yesterday. Up from the box the whole experience was kind of like watching Piñata’s old work though…
